basic facts about Mbef
Funds from the State and Federal governments remain far below what we need. Our district recieves funds from the Sate and Federal governments of only about $5,800 per student - barely enough to cover basic educational needs. As a comparison, Connecticut and New York spend over $12,000 per student. MB Education Foundation and PTSAs - two parts of our solution to provide excellent educational opportunities. Our solution is working.
- PTSAs fund school site-specific short-term items like supplies, computer equipment, assemblies, workshops, field trips, etc.
- MBEF funds district-wide programs and long-term commitments like salaries for instrumental music teachers, librarians, health assistants, PE specialists, reading specialists, science specialists and computer specialists.
