Meadows Summer Camp Expo

Check out the annual Meadows Summer Camp Expo (link is external) on Saturday, March 14th from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Manhattan Beach Middle School. You can browse through over 40 camps for your kids, bid on camps at the Silent Auction and enjoy El Gringo and a refreshing Kona Ice snow cone or lemonade.

Also new at the Expo this year:

  • Bike Course: The Beach Cities Cycling Club and the South Bay Bicycle Coalition will hold a drop-in, free bike course. The course features helmet fitting, rules of the road, and a skills course. Drop in any time during Camp Expo with your bike and helmet. Parents must sign a waiver for their children to participate. For questions or to volunteer, email Roger Spencer.
  • Rocket Launch: MakerSpaces from each elementary school are building air powered rocket launchers. Kids can build their own rocket at the Expo; there will be 3-4 launchers to send the rockets into the sky. Here’s a quick video intro (link is external).   • Book Drive: Girl Scout Troop 8895 is holding a new or used book drive and lemonade stand fundraiser to benefit Valiente College Prep School in South Gate.

Riptide Round-Up

Sunday, August 24, 2014 - 3:00pm to 5:00pm

Stop by after a day at the beach for a cool lemonade and a warm welcome. Visit with friends and meet new families. The SCRIP table and Spirit Store will be open for business, so remember your checkbook or wallet if your child has outgrown their Robinson shirt from last year! Class lists will be posted for viewing. NOTE: Teachers in grades 2-5 will be available to meet only on the first day of school.

Kindergarten Ice Cream Social

Calling all Kindergarten families!   All Kinder families are invited to join in the Riptide tradition of sharing a special treat and a warm welcome with fellow students and meet their teachers on Fowler Field.

First Look for First Grade

An opportunity for first graders to meet and be welcomed their new teachers. Meet in Rooms 15, 16 and 17.

Kindergarten Back to School Night

Monday, August 25, 2014 - 5:30pm to 6:30pm

Parents can learn about the structure of their kinder student’s day, what is expected and how to volunteer in the classroom. In addition, parents will learn more about the Robinson community.

NOTE: This event is for Kinder parents only – please plan ahead for a sitter for all children. Meet first in the Cafe.

Back to School Night (Grades 1-3 & 5)

Thursday, September 18, 2014 - 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Learn the specific grade-level curriculum and expectations from your children’s teachers.

Grades 1 & 3:      5:00 - 6:00pm 

Grades 2 & 5:      6:00 - 7:00pm 

This event is for parents only.

As a result, ALL students will be on a Minimum Day Schedule this Thursday, September 18th.

All Kinders - 8:00 to 11:20am
1st, 2nd & 3rd - 8:20 to 12:40pm
4th & 5th - 8:10 to 12:40pm

School Site Council Meeting

School Site Council is a group of teachers, parents and classified employees that works with the principal to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs. 

Everyone in the Robinson community is welcome and encouraged to attend!

Safe Drug Return through MBPD

Saturday, September 27, 2014 - 10:00am to 2:00pm

The Manhattan Beach Police Department is holding an event to keep our community safe by taking back unused, unwanted, and expired prescription drugs.

On September 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., police will be on hand at the police department (420 15th Street, in the community room) to accept drugs for safe disposal through the DEA's Take Back initiative.

Robinson Music Marketplace

Bring to sell OR come to buy used string & band instruments at the Robinson Music Marketplace.

This event will take place on Monday, September 29, from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. right outside the Robinson Cafeteria.

If you have used Honors Band clothing, bring that along as well.

Hometown Fair Booth

Saturday, October 4, 2014 - 10:00am to Sunday, October 5, 2014 - 6:00pm

The annual Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair is coming up Saturday October 4h and Sunday October 5th!  The Fair is fun for all ages. Great fair food, beautiful arts & crafts from hand selected vendors, free entertainment and games for kids.  This event is a Manhattan Beach tradition!

Please come visit Robinson's awesome booth, show your school spirit, have FUN and win a beta fish at our third annual Beta Ball Toss!  Please visit Sign Up Genius if you'd like to work a shift in the booth. Parent, student and 5th grade slots are still available.
