Message From the Principal

Congratulations to Ms. Kim El Fay, Robinson’s Classified Employee of the Year.  Ms. El Fay is one of our aides assigned to Robinson, and we all love her.  She is quick to lend a hand to any who need help. If you missed the talent show, you missed quite a bit.  It was a great night for everyone.

Volunteer Luncheon Will Honor Parent Volunteers

Green Award Contest

Calling all students in grades 1st - 5th to participate in our first ever Green Award Contest! A brand new iPad will be awarded to the student who submits the most creative project that is both 'GREEN' and can improve our school or community. If you'd like to participate as a small group of up to 10 people, each participant in the winning group will win a reusable S’well Bottle. Teacher sponsors are encouraged. The deadline for your student to submit their project to the office is June 7th.

MBMS Scholar Quiz Finals

Attention 4th and 5th grade parents!  Get an insider’s view of MBMS and come watch the MBMS Scholar Quiz Finals on June 2nd at 1:15 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR)!  This high-speed academic competition (think Jeopardy at 100 mph) galvanizes the entire campus for seven days in the spring each year. It’s a great way to get a feel for the middle school.  Questions?

MB Roundhouse Fun Run

The Roundhouse Aquarium Teaching Center is holding its Annual Roundhouse Fun Run for the Oceans on June 3, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. on the North side of the Manhattan Beach Pier. A special discount is available for students who register using code: EXTRACREDIT. Click here to sign up! This is a timed run/walk on the beach at low tide, and the proceeds benefit the Roundhouse Aquarium's Ocean Education Programs.

Applications are now being accepted for the 45th annual Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair! There are many ways to participate and it's a great way to raise money for your organization. Summer Camp VIP by MB/X Foundation

Do you have an incoming Kindergartner in the fall? If so, be sure to check out the summer Kinderkamp and Variety VIP opportunities for your student, which have been favorite classes at Camp VIP for 14 summers. These are great “tried and true” camps to spend a week on an elementary campus, prepare for Kindergarten with skill building, lots of fun, and the opportunity to make new friends. MBEF’s 23rd Annual Manhattan Wine Auction will be held on Saturday, June 3rd at 4:30pm at the Manhattan Country Club.

Scholar Quiz Volunteers Needed

Nearly 600 MBMS students participate in this fast-paced competition testing their knowledge and wits on curriculum they have learned, current events and pop culture. This is a way to see how MBMS students shine while having fun at this annual lunchtime event. It also will help you understand what it is, so you can encourage your child to participate when he/she is in 6th grade at MBMS!

Fifth Grade Team Wins Odyssey of the Mind State Championship

The 5th grade team from Robinson Elementary captured the Odyssey of the Mind State Championship and is headed to the World Finals in May at Michigan State University! They placed first in Spontaneous Problem-Solving and First Overall in their division. Congratulations to team members: Bridget Ballantine, Callie Boren, Hunter Gregory, Chloe Hynes, William Kiely and Jonathan Voskuilen. Other MBUSD teams participated and shined at the tournament, including Pacific and Pennekamp.

Lost and Found is Full

Are you missing a jacket? Or perhaps 10 jackets, a bunch of lunch boxes, some water bottles and other assorted articles of clothing that found their way to school, but didn't come home? Our Lost and Found, located near the cafeteria, is overflowing with items that have been left behind. If your student is missing anything, please check it out before Spring Break! After April 7, all unclaimed items, from the S'Well bottles to the Jr. Guards hoodies, will be donated!
